LOCUS operation

The On/Off and Mode Selection Switch controls the power and different reader modes.
The Scan Button is pushed and held to stream ultrasound video images to a PC for decoding.
The Power/Charge LED (Light Emitting Diode) indicate on/off and charge status
The Operation LED indicates which operation mode the reader is in.
By pressing the Sensor Rubber Pad towards a
surface with a DMx code, the code will be displayed and
decoded by a PC connected to the LOCUS reader.
The photo below shows the basic operation of LOCUS. The reader is
connected to a PC where the SoundVision SW is running. While
the scan button is pushed and held, a video image is
streamed to the PC. To read a code, press the sensor rubber
pad towards the code to read. The ultrasound image of the
code will be visible on the screen and decoded.
The LOCUS reader offer the following imaging modes to be
chosen by the Mode Selection Switch:
- NORMAL: Ultrasound images optimized for uncovered and painted, but visible codes are streamed to SoundVision SW
- COVERED: Ultrasound images optimized for painted/covered and other "non-visible" codes are streamed to SoundVision SW
- CURVED: An algorithm imaging codes on curved surfaces is offered. CURVED mode can also with advantage be used for difficult codes marked on flat surfaces.
