LOCUS 2D Data Matrix Ultrasound Reader
The LOCUS (LOw Cost UltraSound)
Data Matrix reader features unique possibilities for
reading and decoding of hidden direct marked Data Matrix
codes. Through advanced signal processing, the reader
adaptively compensates for different thickness of cover
layer (paint, dirt, contamination etc) and generates
real-time ultrasound images of hidden and visible codes.
The LOCUS is a hand-held contact reader targeted at
robust DMx marking where cradle to grave traceability is
the need, and the parts are undergoing harsh treatment
during the product`s life (Defense, Aerospace and
Automotive industries). The DolphiScan highresolution
transducer design provides fast and secure decoding
under conditions where optical readers are not suitable.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION
The images are sent via USB and displayed and decoded on
a PC or PDA by the SoundVision SW.
The SoundVision SW is developed in cooperation with
Pryor, and provides display and decode capabilities
for the ultrasound image. The PC/PDA user interface also
provides user configurable parameters to tune settings
for image optimization.
Through a generic interface the end user can integrate
the LOCUS decode system according to local needs. Tailor
made integration solutions can be available
on request.
